The COVID Container©

During a brief bout of isolation due to the wonderful, effective, and strictly-adhered to NHS track & trace technology, I made the COVID Container.

Inspired by a joke my mom made to me, and by all of the cardboard taking up space in my room, I decided to devise a pulley system to be my access point to the outside world. Conveniently, I live on the first floor of my accommodation, facing Prince’s Gardens. This means that the main entrance to halls is only 10meters or less beyond my window.

I sat down on my first evening of isolation made a quick sketch of my idea. Fashioned out of Flying Tiger’s magnificent £3 French Press coffee box, a bit of cheap twine, and Flying Tiger’s magnificent £3 hot glue gun came the COVID Container.

Designed to be weight bearing up to ~ 2kg of load, I successfully sent down my prototype, and happily, brought it back up full of Matcha Mochi Balls, A Pack Of Instant Mee Goreng, and Three Packets of Instant Masala Tea (thank you Keion and Mo).
