Some more things to do in London (by region)

There is already a London Guide on my site that I created a while ago, but after giving more recommendations out to friends I thought I would make a quick post to update with some more places to check out. These are aimed at a slightly younger demographic; someone who is spending enough time in London to settle in and have it feel like home, but still want to go about the central and less residential areas to see a bit of the city.

North

Cha Sha is located in “Little India” area of Wembley and Ealing Rd is a long street with great food, clothes, and drinks

Little Venice has beautiful canals and more towards Paddington there are also outdoor cinemas

Hampstead Heath is, surprisingly, a good place to swim, or visit good ole’ Oli MCM

Primrose Hill at sunset and/or sunrise is really worth it

Roti King has gotten a little bit Tik Tok famous but the quality of the food is still high

Coal Drop Yards is a cool area around some water, fancy office buildings, and good places to eat and drink

Central

Laxsa soho (really good Singaporean / Malaysian food, order the laksa & the roti canai) is conveniently located to go before a night of Jazz enjoyment at Ronnie Scott’s

The Late Late show at Ronnie Scott’s is good for a date, or to go with your Mum for a treat if you’re someone called Rohil Dave

Tate Modern is great, I always cruise through the free sections of the museum and go to the lookout on the 12th floor with beautiful views of Central

Walk across the Millenium Bridge and take the time to tour the inside of St Paul’s cathedral, it’s beautiful

Edgeware Rd has amazing shisha and middle eastern food habibi… specifically Kurdish. Our favs (me and Celine) are City of Erbil and Hawler

St James’s Park has beautiful flowers, ponds, and swans and the classic English stroll-in-the-park experience

Sloane Square is great for bougie people watching, window shopping, and a fancy brunch experience

East

Greenwich park and Canary Wharf are kinda cool places to explore (there’s a pedestrian tunnel that goes under the Thames to connect both)

Exmouth market and the Islington area around City University is super nice!! There’s a good Greek café there as well as an Israeli Restaurant

I personally don’t like Italian, but Gloria in Shoreditch is one of the most fun and authentic of the Big Mama group restaurants for those who enjoy that experience

South

Hoxton Hotel rooftop is great

Walking around Southbank is really nice (skatepark, graffiti, food market)

Battersea power station has become a gentrified luxury apartment place

West

Portobello market is best on a Saturday in Notting Hill

Ravenscourt Park is good for local basketball and pick up games

Richmond Park is the biggest green space in central london and you can literally go pet deer that are everywhere

Beluga is good Persian food according to one of my good friends Rojeanne

Chakra is good Indian

Wilmo = Wiliam Morris, Spoons = Whetherspoons AKA a good pub
